Why a change is needed?

Many a times, in order to survive one has to start a Change Process……

Sometimes one needs to get rid of the old notions, habits and other past traditions……

Only freed from these past burdens, can we create the change and live the present to our advantage……

Facts

India has an estimate of more than 70 million disabled people, most of them confined to their homes due to a complete lack of accessible infrastructure (N.C.P.E.D.P.).

India has an estimate of more than 90 million elderly persons, with the number expected to grow to 173 million by 2026. Of the 90 million seniors, 90 per cent work for livelihood  according to a report released by the United Nations.

Accessibility has been one of the most neglected issues in both these sectors in India. On one hand these two sectors of the population are denied access to public and private spaces because of an insensitive attitude towards their needs, lack of awareness, infrastructural hurdles and inappropriate facilities which serve as hindrances. And on the other hand, business centers, malls, hotels and establishments are not fully utilizing the potential of increasing their client base when they ignore this staggering number of prospective customers (70+million disabled people and 90+million senior citizens of which 90 per cent are working)

The barrier to cross is simply Accessibility……

It is probably one of the crucial factors that can free up the potential of available opportunities for people with special needs and senior citizens.
